Eastern Colorado blends very well into western Kansas. With that said, there isn't too much to look at. This is the last photo from my recent trip up North and also one of my favorite in the many I still have yet to do.
As we drove down I-70, I had been watching the fading sun create some intense colors on the cloud shelf moving in. At that same time I was scoping out places to plant myself once the formation of the clouds and lighting were perfect. Once I decided I wanted to get out and shoot I had my Dad pull off behind a gas station and I ran out into a windy wheat field and took the time to snap a few shots for a panorama. After that of course, I stood for a bit to relax and take it all in.
Reprocessed shot using a new technique to produce truer to life colors.
I won't drag a long critique out but I really think you nailed this shot. The lighting is perfect...not to blinding but bright enough to bring out the color variations. Using the field to generate depth perception worked fantastically. The wavy grass helps give a sense of motion as well...as if the photograph is alive. Blow it up to an enormous size and I'd say someone looking at it could very well feel like they are being drawn into the picture
What a great thing to say! If I could go back in time to when this was taken there would be so much I would change, knowing what I know now. I truly appreciate the support!
