My portfolio is littered with sunset shots. Not because I prefer them, but because I rarely want to get up that early for a sunrise. If I'm traveling and in an epic location, then you better believe I'm up and at em' well before the sun even has the slightest glimpse of my bed head. The image above is an exception.
I spent the night out at Kaitlin's place knowing I didn't have to be into work till 10:15. Unfortunately, she wakes up at 5 and is out the door by 6:15. I woke up with her, dragging myself around her apt. Luckily for me, Busch Wildlife is a hop, skip, and a jump from her place. I put on my big boy pants and headed out the door shortly after she did, gear in tow. Arriving at Busch and picking a random lake, I walked around for a bit looking for anything to catch my sleep encrusted eyes.
These wildflowers were everywhere on the lakeshore, some looking rather pitiful and mopey due to the insane drought. I found am attractive little cluster that was getting ready to receive it's daily dose of photosynthesis, setup the tripod and waited for the sun to get over it's stage fright. Turned out to be an absolutely beautiful way to spend the morning before work. Even though I went home shortly after this and powernapped like nobody's business.
Thank you for viewing my work! Any and all comments or critiques are encouraged and greatly appreciated. I know of at least one thing I would like to change about this image and it would be pretty cool to see if someone else can figure out what that might be.
Love it, Brad, when someone gets that foreground right.
As for changes? The border could go. It darkens the left side and you really don't want that. (Of course I have to admit that I'm anti-border in general.)
The piece of brush beside the left-most flower head would disappear in a perfect world but I wouldn't rework just for that bit.
