Ever wonder why Autumn landscape images are so appealing? Part of it has to do with complementary colors. The oranges, reds, and yellows you see are directly opposite of the blues and purples on the color wheel. A rich, saturated grove of Fall foliage looks so much better against a vivid sky donning sunrise or sunset hues of purples, pinks and blues. These colors, when juxtaposed create an aesthetically pleasing view for the human eye.
When watching these clouds morph rather rapidly, the color change they went through was mesmerizing. Deep, rich saturated values that really stood out against the evening sky. Oddly enough, if complementary colors are mixed, they will always create a neutral color, usually grey or black. It reminds of a forbidden love. The two look great next to each other in theory but once they try to meld together, the result is disastrous.
Not breaking much ground with the composition on this shot but the color is something great that I wanted to share with everyone. Thanks for viewing and as always, comments and critiques are so greatly appreciated!
