As I walked the fields of Cade's Cove on an early morning, the slow parade of cars opted to continue on their journey through a one way road winding partially through the woods, constantly on the gas and brake. Curious onlookers would snap photos out of car windows, usually being obstructed by fencing or trees. Stomping through the lightly frosted grass, watching your breath bellow out seemingly mixing in with the fog and listening to the calm winds across the fields gave you the sense of being on your own, as if the experience was tailored for you. The cars breathing their own brand of fog felt miles away as nature offered a sneak peek of what she can really do. Soon her mood will change, the low fog will dissipate and light will flood the field. To understand in this moment how fleeting the opportunity is, makes you ever more keen and perceptive to notice and grasp onto the same ephemeral happenings in your daily life.
